Marc Kelly, CA, CIRP

Licensed Insolvency Trustee

Marc is a founding partner of Hardie & Kelly (“H&K”).  Prior to forming H&K in 2005, Marc was a Senior Vice President in the restructuring and insolvency group of one of the “Big Four” accounting firms in Calgary.  Marc qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and has practiced exclusively in the insolvency field for 26 years providing advice and assistance to businesses and individuals experiencing financial challenges.  He earned the designation of Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and received his license as a Licensed Insolvency Trustee from the Government of Canada in 1997.  Marc has provided insolvency related services throughout Canada and the United States involving many public and private companies on behalf of banks, financial institutions, shareholders, boards of directors and governments.  He has undertaken numerous viability assessments and provided turnaround assistance to companies in a variety of industries including: vehicle leasing, manufacturing, high tech, oil and gas, oil field services, gas marketing, trucking, life insurance, service and retail industries.  He also has extensive experience in receiverships, bankruptcies, proposals under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and plans of arrangement under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.


Kevin Meyler, CA, CIRP

Licensed Insolvency Trustee

Prior to being admitted as a partner with Hardie & Kelly in January 2012, Kevin was a Vice President in the transaction advisory services group of one of the “Big Four” accounting firms in Calgary where he focused primarily on the restructuring services area since 2004.

Kevin is a Chartered Accountant, holds the CIRP designation and is licensed by the Government of Canada as a Bankruptcy Trustee in both Alberta and Manitoba.  Kevin has provided insolvency related services to both private and public companies in a variety of industries including: oil and gas, oil field services, manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, technology, retail, restaurant and hospitality.

Kevin has extensive experience in performing work-outs both outside of formal insolvency proceedings as well as in formal insolvency proceedings including: receiverships, bankruptcies and plans of arrangements under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

Kevin also has experience with filings involving concurrent proceedings under Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code for entities with cross-border operations in the United States.

Ronald Hardie, CA, CIRP

Licensed Insolvency Trustee

Ronald earned his designation as a Chartered Accountant in1976 and has been practicing exclusively in the area of insolvency and restructuring since 1978.  Ron received his trustee license in 1986 as well as becoming a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional in the same year.  Having worked as a manager at Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young), Collins Barrow as a partner, and within his own practice since 1992, Ron has been involved in a wide variety of debt management, refinancing, restructuring, insolvency, liquidation and wind down situations.  Ron has helped thousands of individuals, including professionals and entrepreneurs, to resolve what are often extremely complex financial affairs.  He has assisted dozens of large corporations and small businesses to restructure and manage a wide rage of debt management situations.  Ron’s experience spans an equally wide range of industries including agriculture, aerospace,  forestry, manufacturing, automotive, hospitality, contracting and professional services practices. Regardless of whether it’s a personal or corporate situation, one thing that Ron always strives for is “workable solutions” that everyone involved can live with. Ron is a member of the Canadian, Alberta and Manitoba Institutes of Chartered Accountants.  He’s also a member of the Canadian and Alberta Associations of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and is involved in many industry and community boards.


Megan McPherson – Estate Administrator

With years of experience as a Certified Insolvency Counsellor and life experiences that have made Megan empathetic to people experiencing debt problems. Megan helps her clients understand that everyone makes mistakes, but the secret to success is to learn from our mistakes and move on. Megan helps people to help themselves to take responsibility for their life choices, and to know that with the right attitude and good work ethic, anything is possible.
